Wanna Be model pose

I raced the second of the triballistic triathlon seriesyesterday morningfinishing second to American Olympic team member Doug Friedman over the750 swim 20k non drafting bike and 6km run course heldat the Sheraton Hotel in Krabi.

I broke away in the swim with French athlete Ben Sanson to exit the water 100m up on the chase group. Ben attacked hard on the bike and I fell back to rideneck and neck with Doug. Ben struggled on the run with atight calf anddecided to pull out saving himself for next weekends race in Mekong. Doug who heads to the World Cup in Moloolaba Australia tomorrow ran very strong to finish around a minute up on me.

I have been planning to write a travel update for a couple of weeks, I had been meaning to talk about the gibbon rehabilitation centre, themonks who walk through the town each morning and theinterval sessions taking a draft behind the mopeds and logging trucks. As is always the case as Icome towards the end of a camp I haven’t been getting much done at all. Training has been great andi’m confident the heavy run focous will pay off come the season, but it hasnt left alot of energy for anything else. I have sat down on a number of occasions to try and writesomething coherent, butbed, foodor another training session always manages to get in the way.

I have 2 weeks left in Thailand i’m travelling to Mekong for the Asian Aquathlon champs on Thursday and then the ITUpoints race on the Sunday. I will stay in the NorthWestof the country for the week and then travel back to Bangkok for the first running of the Bangkok Olympic distance triathlon on the 1st of April. From there I will head back to the U.K

I will try and take some pictures as I travel and should even get a spare minute in a hotel room somewhere to write a proper travelupdate. In the mean time i’ve posted a couple of shots from the TBB team launch. The Elephant is called Tum Tum,she tookthe squad swimming and I reckon she might have given Ben and I a run for our money given half the chance.
