October and November are meant to be the quiet part of the the year. Theory goes that seasons over and it’s time to kick back and relax. It never works out like that though, it’s more like going crazy for a month whilst you catch up on all the things that got forgotton during the season and try and keep all the people you’ve ignored for the last 11 months happy before you go back to being a hermit.

Also, if at all possible, it’s nice to make a couple of pennies so that there’s a chance of getting away somewhere warm if it all gets too much come March.

So the last few weeks have involved a trip to London and the Cycle Show, I had a go at the Jim Walker Duathlon, As i’m classed as an Elite athlte I wasn’t eligible to win any prizes but the awesome guys from Jim Walker did sort me out with some new speedplays, a bling helmet and a pair of North Wave Tri shoes. Someone at Jim Walker knows their brands cos they don’t import anything that isn’t awesome.

I have been coaching on the Driven to Tri swim camp in Bath and the  British Triathlon Talent Squad training camp in Loughborough. The camp was great fun, but sneaking out of the door at 5.30am to get my run done was tough. After the camp I headed up to Sheffield to see Dave from Planet X and hand back my bikes (see the report on the planet x site here) Last weekend I lead the South West academy training day in Wareham (click here to see how the South West Talent is getting on) and this weekend Driven To Tri have got their big weekender in Bath.

Don’t worry, I’ve been getting my running done as well, i’m 3 weeks and 6 sessions back into proper run training, I’ve raced two westward league cross countries and the tavy 7 (In my Bling Pink Brooks Gloves, just trying to get hold of the ear warmers now)

I’m ready to get back into Hermit mode, got a few more coaching dates in January, but then thats it for the winter. That should give me a bit more time to write something funny and interesting rather than a list of places i’ve been.   Just to make up for the boring post i’ve dug out a picture of me chasing a thoroughly  uninterested cow on the Moor.
