So, you’ve spent the winter concentrating on trying to improve your flat running speed. What do you do come race season A, sit in the pack conserving your energy in the disciplines you haven’t been working on and wait for the run or B, break away on the swim and try and 2 up time trial away from the field on the bike. For some reason at Windsor today I thought B was the correct answer.

Driven to Tri held there first swim camp in Bath on the 21st and 22nd of April below is my 100m swim video analysis. I’m going to see if anyone wants to leave a comment on my stroke technique, which it has to be said is a little unorthodox. I’ll do my own analysis once other people have had a chance to critique. Don’t hold back, i’m a big boy, I can take it.

A number of athletes from the squad are racing Ironman Malaysia this weekend, you can keep up to date with their progress during the race at http://www.ironmanlive.com/  Keep an eye out for AJ, Reinaldo, Stephen Baylis and Sam Renouf in the mens race along with Rebecca Preston and Bella Comerford in the girls.

In the run up to the race I interviewed AJ for http://www.tri247.com/ check out the site for a full copy of the interview, also on tri247 is an interview with my coaching partner Julie Dibens.

Whilst the Ironmen are away I will be testing my post crash legs with a mountain bike triathlon on Laguna beach the distances are 750m 10km 5km, check back on Sunday to find out how I get on.
